Finishing Summer Events - Finally!

Well, I had about 5 times as many pictures ready to download and the computer froze on me!  I refuse to start all over - too many other things to do today - so I'll be content with ONE picture from each event!

Janna and Andy had Mabel baptized on Aug. 19 while Andy's dad was in town for a convention.  He was able to assist for Mabel just like he did for Charlie in Pittsburgh.  We all enjoyed a great party for lunch at Cory's afterwards.  Andy's mom, dad, and sister were there, too.  What a special day!

Paul and I got a $100 off certificate to Caribou Highlands for a two night stay, so we went up to the North Shore for a couple of days after VBS and all the summer youth activities at church were over.  It was a beautiful time to rest and recoup!  Of course, we played golf at Superior Highlands, but we also explored Grand Maris, canoed, hiked and made s'mores at night at the resort campfire!

Alison was in a car accident towards the end of August, and the man hit her smack in the front as he crossed the center line while fiddling with his radio!  She has a broken foot and needed surgery to repair all those tiny bones that were dislocated and crunched.  Three screws and a pin - plus many weeks off her feet.  Thank the Lord for protection and short term disability.  Her job will be there when she is able to go back in early October.

Waterbrooke Ladies made a getaway up north this year for hiking and biking.  We went to a cute little Mom and Pop resort called the 4T's on Big Stony Lake near Hackensack.  We had lots of fun, and it was a great way for me to end the first week of school.  We watched Women of Faith DVD,s made s;mores, biked, shopped in Walked, played Dominoes, and toured some of the local sights.  Fun!

Do you like Paul's new hat?  I bought it for him on the trip up north.  I think he needs to comb it!  LOL
This concludes the summer of 2012 - whew!
